Cases can be reassigned, postponed, and closed, among other actions.
The history of a case - who it's been assigned to, its status and its priority - can be tracked viewing its comment thread.

We'd like to set up a new project type 'course' if we can. To do this we'll need some sort of version control for starters. Anyone know if we can set this up on Open Atrium?

The project feature for Open Atrium is at http://drupal.org/project/software_projects

It's still pretty rough around the edges, but I think it will do what you are looking for. Any extra hands or hours that could be spared to help with development on that feature would be greatly appreciated.

I have not tested software_projects against the recently created packages for project and project_issue, so there could be some new issues that I haven't seen. I'm not aware of any large API changes in project module in the last month or so, so I would imagine that the feature still works as intended.
